The Unblemished: A Refreshing Blend of Japanese and Modern Design

Creating a Heartwarming Living Environment with Cheng Hsien Wu

The Unblemished is a unique residence designed by Cheng Hsien Wu that seamlessly blends Japanese and modern design elements. With a focus on wooden elements and extraordinary lighting conditions, this project combines professional design skills with the principles of Feng Shui to create a mix-and-match style that is both visually stunning and functional. The result is a refreshing and heartwarming living environment that offers flexibility and a sense of tranquility.

To achieve a sense of transparency and brightness, the overall design of The Unblemished incorporates white polished tiles and white-painted walls and cabinets. This choice not only draws ample daylight indoors but also increases transparency, creating a refreshing yet inviting atmosphere. To add vitality and variation, touches of light-green colors are strategically placed throughout the space, complementing the main white tones.

One of the standout features of The Unblemished is the specially designed mezzanine area. With a height of 170 cm, the mezzanine is constructed using white wires, enhancing transparency and safety while infusing a refreshing sense into the interior. The space is versatile and can be transformed into a guestroom or a lounge area by simply opening or closing the curtains. This thoughtful use of space gives the residents more possibilities and flexibility for the future.

The design of The Unblemished takes into consideration the specific needs of the owners. The residence spans approximately 40 pings and features four bedrooms and three living rooms. With an overall height of 3.6 meters, the designer created a mezzanine area to maximize space utilization and provide the owners with more flexibility. The exceptional lighting arrangements allow natural daylight to flood the interior, creating a vivid and rustic living environment that is both refreshing and heartwarming.

In terms of materials, white polished tiles are predominantly used for decoration, while the area from the staircase to the mezzanine is paved with laminate flooring. This decision was made based on the characteristics of the materials and the specific conditions of the areas, ensuring the perfect living environment for the owners.

The Unblemished is a testament to the designer's meticulous attention to detail and creative problem-solving. The location of the worship hall, carefully chosen based on Feng Shui principles, presented a challenge that was overcome with ingenuity. Iron frames and aluminum-framed sliding doors were strategically placed next to the worship hall to prevent smoke and smell from spreading, ensuring both visual transparency and maintaining indoor air quality.

Cheng Hsien Wu's clever combination of Japanese, modern, and simple interior styles brings richness and uniqueness to The Unblemished. The dining table, a cherished collection of the owners, adds a strong characteristic to the residence, emitting a rustic and warm sense of nostalgia. Wooden elements are also prominent in the hanging lights, long benches, and cabinets of the dining area, infusing a unique vibe and allowing the residents to bask in the warmth of natural daylight every day.

The Unblemished is a testament to the designer's ability to create a harmonious living environment that combines aesthetics, functionality, and the principles of Feng Shui. By seamlessly blending Japanese and modern design elements, Cheng Hsien Wu has created a residence that offers a refreshing and heartwarming living experience.
